Sharing an Older Experiment
black background creates floating effect of colored shapes
Experiment-on-Black - digital painting / art prints - Dan Beck
This piece was done quite a while ago - end of 2000 from what I can tell. As the title suggests, it was an experiment.
Underneath all the shapes is the black and white shaded cone - pretty much taken from the computer’s stock gradients. The colored shapes just seem to float above the black and white surface and when over solid black they look like a chink of light coming through the background.
The fact that they don’t really connect much is part of the coolness of the piece. It wasn’t something I really wanted to explore further - but I was also into more one of a kind things at that time - looking for new and unique explorations while I experimented with the medium.
Because of my new Blog guide by images I could see I had never written about this digital painting prior to today - so why not I thought.
