An earlier digital painting, sometimes a title says it all. This was a quickly done piece, fun, bold, intentionally simple, and more than complete enough.

The influences to me are obvious. This was in no way done in a vacuum. Without even thinking about it, it references Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, and Alex Calder.

Like the piece itself, I am quickly referencing other artists – since there are so many others who have come before me and others who undoubtedly affected me here and in other work.

But it is not my practice to copy someone else’s style – it just isn’t the way I work … I think I always like the idea of my work being original – even if like everyone else – it is influenced strongly.
