Abstract Painting Finds Figures From Within
color, texture, dancer, worker, flight and toil
Shape of Something New - digital painting / art prints - 2005
I wrote about this digital painting in November of last year. Though I admittedly didn’t think there was anything totally new about the art, I did think it was quite new for me and interesting enough to share.
The title, of course, refers to the figures and the way I got to them - abstract painting frequently evokes representations and often enough figures - I simply enhanced what I was seeing upon taking the piece in.
Looking at this now - I am really enjoying the texture and colors, the slight repetition throughout, and figures both dancer and worker, flight and toil.
I understand why I had thought it might be the “Shape of Something New” or “Shape of Things to Come” - but albeit new, it has yet to materialize into more than the one piece.
